Snopes and Lee
Flem Snopes was a William Faulkner character, notably in Spotted Horses, where he snacked on ginger snaps, auctioned a string of wild ponies to a town, then turned the ponies loose, letting each purchaser capture their own. Now, he’s a heteronym of Steven Paul Lansky, aka Steve Lansky, Night Music Host from WNKU 89.7 FM, back in the day, a harmonica player, and songwriter with Gordon Lee, creators of MOONLIGHT, a 45 RPM 7”, vinyl record on Brokenceramicskilletrecords.com. Flem Snopes takes no responsibility for any effects his music may have on those who listen to it.
Moonlight in the snow
Moonlight in the snow,
Moonlight in the snow,
Moonlight in the snow,
What do you think you know?
What do you think you know,
What do you think you know,
What do you think you know,
It’s 15 or 20 below.
My friend Fred said to me,
The solution is so simple and plain to see,
So many problems for you and me,
Resolve by simply changing our mind
—Ask a different question this time
It’s 15 or 20 below,
It’s 15 or 20 below,
It’s 15 or 20 below,
Hush you Musky just so,
Hush you Musky just so,
Hush you Musky just so,
Hush you Musky just so,
Mush little Husky lets go
My friend Fred said to me,
The solution is so simple and plain to see
So many problems for you and me,
Resolve by simply changing our mind
—Ask a different question this time
The genius of it you see,
Is big deals become obscure
And little loses allure
Change the question you’ll see
It’s no catastrophe
Mush little Husky lets go,
Mush little Husky lets go,
Mush little Husky lets go,
Moonlight in the snow
Moonlight in the snow,
It’s 15 or 20 below,
What do you think you know,
It’s a beautiful night you know
It’s a beautiful night you know,
with the Moonlight in the snow,
What do you think you know,
Mush little Husky lets go
Come Back
Gordon Hackstaff 5/5/2019
Lite rain Falling down
Lights flashing on the edge of town
Feeling empty, not the first clue what to do
Startled Flock of birds departing, leaving with you
Come back, Come back to me
Come back, Come back to me
Can’t imagine life without you
Please come back to me
Can’t mask, The emptiness
Dumbfounded by senselessness
Shots ring out at the edge of night
And seething Anger, can’t make it right
Chorus
Solo
Can’t mask my Powerlessness,
Seething anger, Emptiness
Come back, Come back to me
Come back, Come back to me
